The 2012 Major Championship took place this past weekend under the bright lights of the Ice Palace at West Edmonton Mall, with the Calgary Crusaders running the table, going 5-0 on their way to being crowned the kings of the 2012 Major Division.
It was a great weekend for the Crusaders, who were the top team after the regular season, and they continued that run by going through the weekend undefeated. This division was tightly contested all season, but the Crusaders seemed to have found a whole other gear this weekend as they outscored their opponents by a total of 28-6 through their five games. They defeated the South Sask Academy 6-1 in the final after burying a couple empty netters to seal the deal.
Congratulations to the Crusaders on a remarkable season as well as all of the other teams who put on a great show at West Edmonton Mall this weekend.
