2016 Major - B Champions

Queen City Young Guns captured the 2016 Major B Championship with a 6-5 win over Stars Hockey Academy at East Calgary Twin Arena Red.?

Queen City built a 5-3 lead through two periods, scoring once in the first and four times in the second, including two goals from Tucker Rudnitski and singles from Connor Hanska, Ledger Kachur, and Hayden Wickenheiser. Stars answered with second-period goals from Dane Swyripa, Haci Karaibrahimovic, and Tred Gano to stay within striking distance.?

In the third, Stars pushed back with a power-play goal from Gano and an even-strength marker by Griffin O’Reilly, but Queen City’s short-handed and power-play goals from Hanska and Kachur earlier in the game proved to be the difference. With multi-point performances from Rudnitski, Hanska, and Wickenheiser and timely special-teams scoring, Queen City Young Guns were crowned 2016 Major B Division Champions at the HSL Championship.
