South Sask set the tone with three unanswered goals in the first period from Conrad Loos, Matthew Greyling, and Dax Hurford to build a 3-0 lead. They extended that advantage in the second with markers from Axel Roy and a power-play goal by Hurford, while Caps got on the board late in the frame through Wesley Jober.?
Caps pushed back in the third with goals from Bode Mistol and a power-play tally by Cohen Synnott, but South Sask’s early scoring burst and solid special-teams play held up the rest of the way. With multi-point efforts from Hurford, Roy, Loos, Greyling, and Luke Getzinger, South Sask Academy were crowned 2014 AAA-B Division Champions at the HSL Championship.
