HDC Bandits captured the 2015 Major Championship with a 5-0 shutout victory over North Stars Academy Wild at Great Plains Arena 1.
HDC opened the scoring in the first period with two unanswered goals. Hudson Card got them on the board at 8:57 on a feed from Levi Cuschieri, followed by Noah Catellier finding the back of the net at 1:49 on a setup from Weston Walsh and Marcus Festa to build a 2-0 lead. The Bandits continued their dominance in the second period, with Catellier scoring his second of the game at 8:41 to stretch the advantage to 3-0 heading into the final frame.
The third period saw two more goals from the Bandits to complete the shutout. Weston Walsh found the scoresheet at 11:56 on an assist from Marcus Festa and Noah Catellier, while Catellier capped off his hat trick with a power play goal at 3:07, assisted by Jayce Mclean and Lincoln Freeman. With a standout performance from Catellier (three goals), multi-point efforts from Walsh, Festa, and Cuschieri, and a perfect 1-for-3 record on the power play, HDC Bandits were crowned 2015 Major Division Champions at the HSL Championship.
